Fighting Ford (Radio Documentary)

In this intimate oral history, my uncle recalls how the Ford sit-down strike of 1937 radicalized him as a young man.

As America pulls out of the recession and Detroit retools for the future, this first-hand account revisits a contentious time in our collective past with humor and pathos. It's a story of the American Dream in the midst of the Great Depression and the birth of the UAW. A story told by the teenager who visited his Dad at the barricades of what the BBC called "the strike heard round the world." This radio documentary was posted on PRX (Public Radio Exchange) and later bought and licensed by Remix Radio.
